JAK'S CLIENTS & FRIENDS
I was referred by a college to Jennifer when I was looking to buy my first home in San Francisco, and what an excellent referral it was.
When we first met I wasn't 100% sure what I was looking for, but I had some rough ideas. After sharing them with Jennifer, we immediately pulled up a rough cut of what looked good in the areas I wanted.
During the first round of apartments and houses we saw, Jennifer would carefully listen to my thoughts and ask me plenty of questions about each property. After the visits we did a quick wrap up and we booked our next outing.
During the second round of visits, the properties we saw just got closer and closer to feeling "right" for me. Again she was attentive and thoughtful about the feedback I gave and asked just the right questions to get to the heart of the matter.
On our third visit we found several places I loved, and one that was almost exactly the home I wanted to live in. In such a short time we'd narrowed it down and found the right place - which as many who have hunted for houses know, is very rare.
While I mightn't have realized it at first, our success in finding such great places quickly was largely due to Jennifer's skill and intuition. She asked the right questions and listened to everything I said, got in my head and then kept on top of the market until the right place crossed her desk.
The negotiation process was smooth and easy. Many people worry that an agent will try to push a sale on you (since both buying and selling agents are commissioned when a property is sold) but this wasn't the case here. Contrary to putting pressure or settling for the quickest deal, Jennifer provided balanced advice, tough negotiation and put my interests first.
So that's all great, but here's the kicker: only 3 months after my sale, I had a pretty significant roof leak. Not sure of the local laws (I'm not from the area), I reached out to Jennifer for some advice.
At this stage remember that the deal's closed, money's changed hands, business transaction completed... but not only did she help and explain the appropriate course of action, she was very happy to call the old owner on my behalf and put the appropriate pressure to get it fixed.
Now that's the sort of great support you'd want from someone helping to make some of the most important purchases you'll ever make.

Jak is utterly and absolutely amazing.
I worked with her for nearly two years to find the perfect home and I not only found it, but I had a great time doing it. Working with her was a crash course in San Francisco realty, home ownership, and real estate in general.
She was extremely patient, thoughtful, and devoted so much time and energy to listening to my needs and finding homes that met them.
She held my hand through every step of the process and was always there for me whenever I felt overwhelmed. I'm not totally sure how she does everything she does, but I know she's amazing at it.
Jak has my highest, unconditional recommendation.

My partner and I selected Jennifer to sell our home this year, and at every step of the way, have been impressed by her professionalism and warmth.
After recommending a few improvements (interior paint, curb appeal items), she staged our home beautifully for the sale. This was no small feat since we have a toddler, but she staged it such that most of the fancy things could quickly be brought out for showings, and then tucked out of sight for family living.
And once she staged our home, I found myself wondering if I'd ever have agreed to sell it if I'd known it could look so luxe! She's got an amazing eye for bringing out the best in each room simply and elegantly.
She is very accommodating with regard to a family's limitations to show at a moment's notice, and scheduled all showings so that we could plan the night before and/or morning of without too much preparation. Under Jennifer's guidance, our home sold quickly, even in this aggressive market. She deftly navigated us through the offer selection process, and her professional relationship with the seller's agent smoothed the process even further.
Jennifer is highly communicative, forthright, and refreshingly frank with her clients, and she clearly "had our back" throughout the process. She's unafraid and firm, and knows how to help you get what you want.
Bottom line: Jennifer provides a painless process, is experienced, no-nonsense, honest, and a blast to be around. I fully endorse her and would jump at the opportunity to work with her again.

I originally bought my first home in the City with JAK 12 years ago. So of course when my partner and I were ready to retire and leave the city we called on JAK again.
Jennifer did a truly amazing job. She walked through our home and gave us some advice as to what we could do to get top dollar for the property. When the home was ready JAK found the perfect stager for the property and it looked amazing!
Jennifer did a fantastic job on helping me sell a property in San Francisco.
I could not be more pleased with her knowledge, professionalism, responsiveness, class and impressive ability to keep things moving as smoothly as possible.
She was always available and made sure the entire home selling process was seamless. She never missed a detail, communicated often and clearly.
Jennifer saw to it that the property was ready to show at a moments notice. She had it cleaned, landscaped and staged for us.
Once we were in contract her skills at negotiation shined through. I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable experience during such a stressful process.
If anyone ever asks me for a recommendation on a realtor in the San Francisco area, I recommend Jennifer without hesitation.

Jennifer has been, to our knowledge, a Realtor par excellence since first she helped us find a wonderful duplex in Noe Valley in 1998.
She was the only Realtor we had met who listened to our desires, tempered them with San Francisco real estate reality, and worked for us (not real estate interests) to find us the perfect home.
Subsequently she has helped us with condo conversion and selling. Several years ago we moved to Miami for work reasons, but we left our hearts, family, and friends in San Francisco.
So we recently asked Jennifer to find us a pied-a-terre condo in San Francisco, despite the increasingly challenging market. In short order (but clearly with a lot of work) she found a great one that balanced size, location, condition, and price. We closed on it last month.
Through all our buying and selling homes in San Francisco she has been of the utmost help with finding, buying, financing, staging and preparing for selling, finding excellent buyers, closing and all other aspects of the process.
Her positive personality, personal commitment, and exhaustive research and other efforts make working with her a joy. We have recommended her to friends, and they have also been delighted with her efforts and results.

Earlier this year I decided to sell my single family home in the Excelsior District.
My first thought was, in the chaotic world of San Francisco real estate would I recoup the money I invested on large upgrades and unceasing "fixer upper" duties over the past 14 years?
Enter Jennifer Kauffman from Zephyr Realty. From our first meeting to close of escrow Jennifer was my ally and my advocate.
Jennifer was always available, hands on and I never experienced pressure to pour excessive amounts of money into my house in order to get it ready for market.
Jennifer's professional advice focused on thoughtful and common sense tasks such as painting and cleaning up the yard. Jennifer called on her network of adjunct professionals who helped transform my house into a more attractive and desirable residence.
When negotiating offers Jennifer was sharp, fair minded, and the Realtor you want on your side. Through her experience, input and actions, Jennifer Kauffman with Zephyr Realty absolutely contributed to my home selling quickly and well over asking price.
